DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITIES
  • Scrabble: Utilizing a gaming format to encourage additional literacy skills
  • Mancala: Exposing youth to other cultural strategic games
  • Gardening: Giving youth the skills to grow plants for of their own nutritional and recreational desires
  • Boxing/Martial Arts: Exposing youth to combat arts and self-defense tactics
  • Yoga: To encourage core strength and flexibility
  • Dance: Exposure to movement and performance based arts
  • Music: Learning a variety of concepts and instruments that many offer recreational and occupation opportunities
  • Culinary: Learning to save money and eat healthy with basic supplies
EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES
  • Drama Matters: A structured Boys & Girls Clubs of America program that offers exposure and understanding as to the behind the scenes preparation that goes into acting
  • Chess Club:An introduction to the strategic thinking of how players can work together using their specific abilities to challenge another person in the same format
  • Girls In Focus: Female members will explore STEM programming, fitness and open the lines of communication with staff and other members all while gaining confidence and having fun
  • Think Big: Academic program designed to support current academic pursuits as well as to think critically about their future
  • Reading Club: A Skills based literacy program designed to encourage youth to become literary consumers and thinkers
  • STEAM: Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math program to have youth thinking critically and solving problems
  • Torch Club: A small group character building program to support Middle school age youth as they transition into the teen years
  • Fine Arts: A creative arts program to have youth utilizing basic resources to express themselves and create art
  • Money Matters: Financial literacy program to help youth understand the basics of personal finance
SPORTS & RECREATION OPPORTUNITIES
  • New Moves: A collaborative process with the U of O to encourage, educate and inspire young girls to remain active throughout life
  • Dodgeball League: Exposure and competition in a popular recreation pursuit
  • Basketball: Skills based program to work with youth on the fundamentals of basketball
  • Table Tennis: A program to introduce young people into a competitive endeavor
  • Reading Club: A Skills based literacy program designed to encourage youth to become literary consumers and thinkers
  • Fit 365: An exercise program to show youth the benefits of remaining fit and increasing their current physiological abilities
  • Healthy Habits: A guidance oriented program to help youth understand making healthy choices in how they live their lives
  • Nutrition services and information: A healthy meal served to all youth free of charge while also modeling a balanced meal
IN PROCESS OF DEVELOPMENT AND OPERATION
  • Food assistance/Food bank: Collaboration with Food For Lane County to provide food for struggling families and youth
  • Mentoring: Small group and one on one services to connect youth with motivated and healthy individuals in the community
  • Volleyball: Skills based program to work with youth on the fundamentals of Volleyball
  • Everfi Online resource learning: A free resource offered to members to participate in online learning for developmentally appropriate lessons and games so they may have continual exposure to complex information and systems that make up our world
  • Virtual tours world museums and heritage sites: Utilizing modern technology to explore many of the unique cultural, scientific, historical, natural and artistic places in this world
