BILL MUSGRAVE OPEN, DRIVING DREAMS AND EMPOWERING YOUTH IN OUR COMMUNITY.
EUGENE, Ore. – Boys & Girls Clubs of Emerald Valley is excited to announce that it will host the Bill Musgrave Open on Friday, June 2, at Pine Ridge Golf Course. This fundraiser benefits youth programs that provide a safe and positive environment for Lane County children to learn, grow and thrive.
“We look forward to putting this event on yearly,” said Matt Sorensen, Boys & Girls Clubs of Emerald Valley CEO. “This event is an excellent opportunity for our community to come together and support our mission of empowering young people to reach their potential.”
The golf tournament will feature a scramble format with a shotgun start at 10:30 a.m. on the beautiful Pine Ridge golf course in the Marcola Valley.
Musgrave is diligently working as the new Senior Offensive Assistant of the Cleveland Browns and regrettably won't be able to attend this year. “It is an honor to sponsor this event and give back to a community that rallied around me for so many years,” said Bill Musgrave, former Oregon Ducks and NFL quarterback, and long-time NFL coach. “I believe that access to quality programs and activities is essential for our young people to develop into successful adults. The Boys and Girls Clubs of Emerald Valley creates a safe and fun environment for kids who need it most.”
All of the money raised at this tournament will benefit more than 400 youth in Lane County. The money will be used to fund STEAM classes, career development, sports and recreation, as well as provide critical summer programming that provides mentors and a safe place while school is out. Additionally, the donations remove the financial burden from families and allow every child to attend the Club.
“We see the difference our staff and programs make on a daily basis,” said Sorensen. “The money raised at this tournament will help our staff create even more space for creativity and connection.”
